BP Southern Africa appointed PetroENG to decommission four underground tanks and install four new 23 000 L underground tanks at the BP Modacks retail site.

The Challenge

Replace non-compliant underground storage, minimising forecourt disruption, ensuring BP Modacks retail operations remain compliant with safety standards.

The Solution

PetroENG delivered civil & mechanical works:

Decommissioned 4 old underground tanks
Installed 4 x 23 000 L underground tanks with separator system
Cast new concrete spill slab, forecourt slab, as well as reinstated paving
Manufactured, installed, and pressure-tested piping underground fuel supply
Installed new fuel dispensers for customer continuity

PetroENG delivered a turnkey installation of an 80,000L above-ground diesel tank for ATS Transport, including civil, mechanical, and installation works.

Provide ATS Transport with a safe and compliant above-ground diesel storage facility, including supporting infrastructure and environmental safeguards.

PetroENG delivered tank installation and infrastructure works:

Built bund wall and plinths, with paving post oil separation tank installation
Manufactured saddles, pump island bollard, and access structures
Fabricated, installed, and pressure-tested all pipework and fittings
Installed 80,000L above-ground diesel tank with cat ladder and walkway
Integrated oil separation tank for environmental protection

Engen South Cape Petroleum – Mossel Bay

Fuel Depot Installation – Diesel Aboveground Storage Tanks (AST) 23m3

Our experienced civil and mechanical team completed the project from start to finish.

Civil work included the construction of a double-walled bund wall, pump island, and filling island including spill slabs.

Tank installation included 3 x 23 000L above-ground tanks and two NSO3 oil separators for the removal of water and control spills preventing discharge of free oil to municipal sewer or direct discharge outfalls.

The mechanical team manufactured all the pipes, vent pipes, stairs, and walkways to the oil company’s specifications.

We designed and installed a pipework system for tank’s suction, pressure, and pipework to ensure the highest standards in accordance with our quality and safety system.

Ensuring all lines are pressure tested and up to oil company standards.

The installation included a Smith meter configuration for the filling up of trucks.

The weather was favourable and we have one happy client!
